Job Title: Information Technology Technician
Department: Information Technology
Information Technology (IT) Technician is responsible for workstation technology devices, and related workstation peripherals.  The IT technician is expected to conduct daily activities on multiple project initiatives as directed by the IT Specialist, as well as general maintenance and support of the user community.  In addition, to ensure that the IT Department provides high quality and cost effective services that conforms to industry standards.  
The IT Technician implements approaches to complete technical and/or non-technical components within school projects or enhancements where directed by the IT Specialist.  The IT Specialist implements initiatives while ensuring that the strategic directions of projects are in line with objectives dictated by the IT Specialist.

Project Attributes & Complexity
The Information Technology Technician works on projects that typically have one or a number of the following variables:
  • An impact within technical components of the business
  • Projects comprising a low to moderate level of complexity
  • Support of wireless devices such as ipods, ipads, laptops, etc.
  • Creating and updating workstation images ,workstation troubleshooting, and anti-virus support at the workstation level
School Expectations: All employees are expected to demonstrate regular and predictable attendance; to support the District’s vision, mission, goals, and Strategic Plan; to engage in civility, respect, and professionalism; and to maintain the professional knowledge and skills necessary to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of their positions.

Background and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent 
  • Master’s degree or equivalent
  • 3 to 5 years workstation hardware and application support experience
  • Substantial knowledge and ability to apply business practices in the context of project implementation and daily technology operations
  • Experience writing business requirements 
  • Experience in participating in complex projects  
  • Experience with process improvement 
  • Experience with user community support with both applications and hardware
